As a Hockey Player
My Experience So Far & What I Expected
I started playing hockey three years ago. I tried it out of pure accident when I needed a winter sport. My love for hockey drove me into success. I was able to prove my improvement by receiving the Rectory JV Hockey 2019-2020 MIP award, getting into the Griffin Youth Hockey 14U, and much more. Though I have worked very hard, there is much that I need to learn.
I hope to be able to continue my hockey experience at my next school, being able to improve my skills along side my peers.

What I have Done

How I started Playing Hockey
Before the age of 12, I would have never guessed that I would become so passionate about hockey. It all started the winter of the 2018, when I decided to try out for our school’s Junior Varsity Hockey team. I immediately loved the feeling of soaring over the ice, boundless, limitless.

Awards that I have received
Throughout my two years of hockey experience, I have earned awards such as the Most Improved Player on the Rectory 2018-2019 JV team and Highest Scorer in the Griffin Youth Hockey League 2018-2019.
What I have learned from hockey
Through hockey, I learned the importance of teamwork, not giving up, and contributing to the community. These traits I believe will do much help in a community and for myself. This is why I see hockey as a crucial part of my life.

What I hope to achieve in the future
I certainly hope to continue hockey at my next high school. My final goal is to make the Varsity team at my next high school. Through playing hockey, I hope to be able to make more friends, exercise, and learn many more great skills.
